Director of Nursing Named
Jane Cook, R.N., a 35-year employee of St. Francis home, has been chosen as the Director of Nursing. She had been serving as Interim Director since March 25. Jane brings a wealth of experience to her new role along with a true devotion to the wellbeing of the residents of St. Francis Home.
Recognition Event Salutes Volunteers
The annual Volunteer Recognition Banquet was held May 1, 2008 to thank all the volunteers who give so much to the residents of St. Francis Home. The following volunteers received service awards:
5000 Hour Award: Sr. Mary Charles Scherley
1000 Hour Award: Ray Lee, Sr. Veronica Nowakowski, Mary Smith, and ShirleyTheis
200 hour award: Richard Puffenberger
100 hour award: Mary Ellen Zahn
The following new volunteers were recognized: Amee Amin, Courtney Chapman, Patricia Claydon, Ian Huth-Fretz, Tana Snavely, and Angela Stacklin.
Volunteers contributed 6,757 hours of service to the residents of St. Francis Home in 2007.
Another Success for the St. Francis Auxiliary Luncheon & Card Pary
This year’s St. Francis Home Auxiliary Luncheon & Card Party held in early May was a wonderful success. The money generated from this event will be used to provide life-enriching programs and activities for the residents of St. Francis Home. Thank you to all who contributed to the success of this event.
St. Francis Home Gift Shop is Worth a Look
St. Francis Home has a well-stocked gift shop located in the lobby. The gift shop has many many fun gift items for this spring season. Stop by for graduation and Fathers Day gifts. There’s also an ample supply of graduation, first communion, anniversary, birthday cards, get-well and sympathy cards. The cards are of the highest quality and lowest prices. You may also want to stop by for Graduation and Father’s Day gifts.
"Wish List" Contains Furniture to Enhance Gathering Spots
St. Francis Home has a "wish list" that contains many items that would enhance the comfort, safety and enjoyment of our residents, families and other guests. Wish list items include new chairs, end tables and other furniture, lamps and decorative, framed prints for the solarium; new carpet for lounge areas near the first floor dining room; a wheelchair accessible glider for the patio and computer desks for the second floor lounge/computer room.
