Pet Parade and Blessing on October 4
St. Francis Senior Ministries is hosting a pet parade and blessing on the Feast Day of our patron saint, St. Francis of Assisi, on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 1 p.m. The public is invited to bring their pets to the event.
This celebration is in remembrance of St. Francis' love of all creatures. Participants are to meet in the stone parking lot on St. Francis Avenue, in Tiffin, in front of the convent of the Sisters of St. Francis.
All animals must be on a leash, if possible, or secured by their owners. Each pet is to be blessed at the end of the parade and receive a St. Francis of Assisi medallion.
The Humane Society of Seneca County is to bring adoptable pets to the event. Several area veterinarians are to participate, as well. Many local businesses have donated door prizes.
The event is free and open to the public. To register a pet or for more information, contact Ann Huth-Fretz at 419-447-2723.
